Final Accounting

The Executor/Administrator must keep detailed records of all income, expenditures, and distributions. These records are necessary for preparation of any fiduciary income tax returns which may be required to be filed and for preparation of accountings to be filed with the Probate court. At least one first and final accounting must be filed with the Probate court in order to settle the estate.  However, in many cases, the period of administration of the estate lasts several years. In these cases, annual accountings must be filed each year, with the first accounting due one year after the appointment of the Executor/Administrator.

Attorney Tobin can assist you in the completion of all mandatory accountings.
